What Is The Real Cause Of Back Pain?
By acarmen1Our backs take a real beating, with up to 80% of the total population suffering pain at least once in their life. It isn’t just an ailment of the elderly either. 4 out of 5 people under the age of 45 suffer enough to take time off work at least once because of their back pain. Back pain is the second leading cause of missing a day.
The truth is that back pain can be avoided simply by visiting your professional and maintaining good health and posture habits.
Some describe their back pain as a dull ache, while say others say it’s a sharp, stabbing pain. Some describe it as a feeling of stiffness or numbness.
Some injuries and illness can leave you in so much pain that you are immobile, while other minor injuries can simply cause a mild pain. Severe back pain that is accompanied by other symptoms should be evaluated by a professional, who can help you determine the proper treatment.
Often, those who have experience a traumatic back injury suffer from emotional stress. Depression is common among those who have been placed on bed rest for an extended period of time, and is also found in people whose life style has changed significantly because of their pain.
What are some causes?
– Back pain experienced by the aged is, unfortunately, part and parcel of the aging process. This type of back pain may be caused by any of a number of back disorders, e.g., spinal stenosis.
– Temporary back pain which is often experienced by pregnant women and women with menopause. Some people mention they experience a type of “nervous’ back pain.
– Everyone knows someone who suffers with arthritis, a very common cause of back pain, particularly in the elderly and sports people.
– Sports and car injuries are another common cause. Lumbar strains, vertebrae fractures can cause specifically located back strain.
– Bad posture is one of the most common causes of backache, experienced particularly in certain occupations, e.g., secretaries who sit all day or sales assistants who stand all day. Many manual labor jobs may cause back pain.
– Infections, both viral and bacterial, can cause back pain. Meningitis and urinary tract infections are just a few that result in back pain.
– Inherited diseases, or diseases you are born with, can cause a life time of pain. One example would be scoliosis.
– Illness, such as liver or kidney disease.
The good news is that back pain can usually be completely cured by diagnosing the root cause of the back problem, especially in the case of disease or injury. In the case of degenerative back problems or back pain from bad posture, pain can be eased by conventional or homeopathic methods.
